Finally, witness the poignant Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate in nearby Ypres – a moving tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Great War.

Thursday 7th November 

Travellers joining us in the UK will depart from London St Pancras International for Bruges, firstly taking the Eurostar to Brussels and, after a quick change, on to the beautiful medieval city of Bruges. After a short walk from the train station, we’ll arrive at our city centre hotel.

Friday 8th November

From the hotel, our local guide will take us on a fascinating walking tour around the UNESCO-listed streets and canals of Bruges. We’ll take in iconic sights such as the Lake of Love, the Market Square with Belfry, the Holy Blood Chapel, and the Church of our Lady.

Belgium is renowned for its varied beers and, in the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the De Halve Maan brewery. Here we’ll learn all about the brewing process and, should you wish, get the chance to enjoy a glass.

Saturday 9th November

This morning we’ll drive out to the World War I battlefields in Ypres in the province of West Flanders. We’ll learn about the recent history of the region, including a visit to the Tyne Cot Cemetery and Flanders Fields Museum. Before heading back to Bruges, we’ll witness the very moving Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate in memory of the soldiers who fought and died in the Great War.

Sunday 10th November

Today we’ll get the chance to indulge in Belgium’s other favourite export – chocolate! We’ll head over to the Chocolate Museum where we’ll learn all about the chocolate making process as well as get to sample a few too!

This afternoon you’ll have free time and a chance to explore the city further… and perhaps buy some delicious gifts to take home.

Monday 11th November

After breakfast, we’ll head back to the train station ready for our journey home.
