Tuesday 21st January

This morning we depart from Buenos Aires and fly to Iguazu Falls. These falls on the Iguazu River lie on the border of Argentina and Brazil and are the largest waterfall system in the world. The word Iguazu originates from the indigenous Indian words for “big” and “water”, which is an accurate description for these mighty and powerful falls.

Today we will experience the Argentinian side of the falls, home to lush and dense subtropical forest, overflowing with flora and fauna. Here we shall wander the walkways and feel the tremor of the falls as we get closer to the thundering water. No visit to the falls would be complete without witnessing “The Devil’s Throat”, where half of the river’s flow suddenly descends rapidly into a narrow chasm and is truly a sight to behold. Witnessed from the Devil’s Bridge, the roaring of the waterfall and the sensation of the water splashing over your skin, makes for an unforgettable sensory experience.
