Friday 15th February

Today we will arrive at The Mecure Brigstow Hotel in Bristol. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and begin your exploration of this fascinating city. You may choose to head down to the infamous docks, explore the M shed museum which highlights the fascinating history to be discovered in Bristol. Once you have had your cultural fill, why not stop off for some sumptuous food at one of the many delectable eateries along the dock.

Saturday 16th February

This morning we head across town to visit the infamous SS Britain, a landmark within Bristol. Brunel’s SS Great Britain is viewed as one of the most valuable ships in history, hailed as “the greatest experiment since creation”. Delve into Bristol’s fascinating history as we step back in time as we meander through the SS Great Britain.

This afternoon we embark on a guided walking tour of Bristol. Delight your senses on this multi-sensory tour, where we will not only uncover the past of this historic city but also have the opportunity to sample a number of the local culinary pleasures. On this walking tour, we will discover everything Bristol has to offer, from jaw dropping street art to a fascinating history.  This evening is yours, why not try out one of the many delicious eateries dotted around the city.

Sunday 17th February

Today we hop on a train and head to the elegant city of Bath, where we will be met by a local tour guide. Bath is teeming with history and it seeps from every grand piece of architecture throughout the city. Home to Jane Austen for a number of years, and the setting for two of her famous novels, it is easy to see why this talented author exclaimed ‘Oh! Who can ever be tired of Bath!’ In 1987 the entire city became a UNESCO world heritage site, the intertwined architectural stylings of both the Georgian and Roman eras making this city one of a kind. We will make our way through the beautiful streets, stopping at sights such as the grand Abbey.

After the tour we will stop for lunch at one of the many delectable eateries in Bath. We shall then make our way to the infamous Roman Baths. Here will we meet out guide who will take us through the museum and the baths, taking us on a fantastic tour, sure to delight all the senses. This tour, unique to our group, will include handling objects in the museum and trying bathing products typical from Roman times. Following on from this we can decide whether to get the train immediately back to Bristol or spend some more time in the splendid city of Bath.

Monday 18th February

Today have a leisurely last morning in Bristol. Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before heading home.

Our hotel is approximately half a mile from Temple Mead train station. To get to the hotel you can either walk, or simply hop into a taxi and make your way there!
