Friday 15th November

Today we depart from London St Pancras to travel to Bruges on the Eurostar, via Brussels. This easy journey will take us straight into the heart of Bruges ready for our Belgian adventure.

Overnight in Bruges.

Saturday 16th November

To get our bearings around Bruges, we’ll be going on a walking tour of the city. We’ll stroll along the medieval streets and alleys of the inner town discovering sights such as the Lake of Love, the Church of Our Lady, The Basilica of the Holy Blood and the Market Square with its Belfry. On this walk, we’ll soon understand why Bruges has a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After the walk, we have a free afternoon, but if you’re a fan of beer, you may want to take advantage of an optional tour around the Halve Maan Brewery. Run by the Maes family, this brewery has been a feature of Bruges for nearly 200 years so whether you’re there for the beer or the history, this place is certainly an interesting place to visit. We’ll meet as a group in the early evening to attend a harp concert at Site Oud Sint-Jan. A talented musician named Luc Vanlaere plays a variety of harps including Celtic, Chinese, Japanese and more!

Breakfast included. Overnight in Bruges.

Sunday 17th November

This morning, we’re on another tour of Bruges but instead of experiencing the city by land, we’ll be cruising the waterways of this delightful city. Bruges is often called the “Venice of the North” and we’ll discover why as we sail under old bridges and past buildings that sink into the water. Next, we’ll be heading to the Chocolate Story for a discovery into the indulgent history of Belgian cocoa. You’ll get to visit the rooms of the museum with a guide and learn all about chocolate from the experts. There’ll even be a chance to sample some if you wish to do so! The rest of your afternoon will be free so enjoy more chocolate delights of Bruges or sample some famous Belgian frites!

Breakfast included. Overnight in Bruges.

Monday 18th November

If there’s something you’d love to do in Bruges, today is the day to do it. Wander around the Frietmuseum, take a chocolate tasting tour, or even go to Brussels for the day – it’s only just over an hour away by train! Alternatively, enjoy a lazy morning before taking in the streets of Bruges at a steady pace. And, as the city starts to gear up for the festive season, you could even get a start on your Christmas shopping!

Breakfast included. Overnight in Bruges.
