Welcome to Cumbria

Nestled in the North of England lies the quiet seaside town of Grange-over-Sands, situated perfectly between the stretching bays of Morecombe and the beautiful area of the Lake District. Once a sleepy fishing village, Grange-over-Sands later became a popular seaside break destination. As times have moved on, Grange-over-Sands is a nod to the past, with its Edwardian style buildings, a stretching promenade, and kept gardens. It is in this peaceful town, away from the overbearing crowds of nearby tourist towns, we will base ourselves, as we explore the surrounding area and visit Bowness-on-Windermere, one of the Lake District’s most charming towns. With all meals included, 3 drinks a night, and the promise of great company, this is one UK break you don’t want to miss!

Wednesday 11th March

Today we make our way to one of the country’s most loved lakes, Bowness-on-Windermere. Here we’ll board one of the cruises that cross the Lake and begin our journey to Ambleside, where we shall have some free time to meander the quant streets of this town. We’ll then get back on board and return to Bowness, where we have a cream tea waiting for us at one of the lakeside hotels! After sumptuous tea break, there will be some free time to explore one of the Like Districts most beloved towns, filled with local shops, cosy cafes and a number of tourist attractions. We meet with our local guide once more today, as we head out for a full days walk, the ascent of Hampsfell. This is an area of open land that rises to over 600ft above sea level.
