Thursday 11th June

We’ll arrive into Hamburg today and transfer to our hotel. We’ll have a few hours before check-in to explore this bustling centre and settle into our surroundings for the next few days.

Overnight in Hamburg.

Friday 12th June

We’ll set out to explore as much of this vibrant city as possible this morning, starting with a walking tour through the city. Our local guide will take us on a journey through Hamburg’s winding streets, where we’ll wander past the magnificent Town Hall, the medieval Church of St Petri and the Hafen District. Whilst we walk, we’ll learn about the WW2 bombing of Hamburg and the stories that have shaped the city.

Our afternoon will be at leisure to further explore before we reconvene later in the evening, when we’ll venture to the botanical gardens. Here during the summer months a spectacular water and light show takes place during the evening, where colourful lights dance to classical music and is the perfect way to spend a relaxed, summer night.

After our tour, we’ll disembark and head to the spice museum! This quaint museum is housed within Speicherstadt warehouses and tells the story of the spice trade, with over 900 exhibits and samples to try! We’ll enjoy a brief lecture here, with some spiced coffee and butterkachun to go alongside it and experience an the flavours of the world and how they came to be.
