Wednesday 19th February
We start our London city break with a walking tour around some of the most historic buildings in London. Starting at Westminster Station, we’ll stroll past Westminster Square and Buckingham Palace before taking a walk down The Mall to St James’s Palace. Our tour will then take us to Trafalgar Square, home to Nelson’s Column and the National Portrait Gallery before ending in the busy hub of Covent Garden. This is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat after delving into London’s history and then the rest of your afternoon is free to explore at leisure. One thing you may want to do this evening is get tickets to a west end show or visit The Sky Garden for fantastic views across London.
Breakfast included. Overnight in London.
Thursday 20th February
Today we visit the imposing and historic Tower of London, a place where many traitors spent their last days and met their fate at the guillotine. Despite its gory past, or maybe because of it, the Tower of London is now one of London’s most visited landmarks as it is home to the Crown Jewels. We’ll be taking a descriptive tour of Jewel House and White Tower to explore this iconic building.
This afternoon, we’ll go to East London for a food tour. This part of London is a melting pot of hundreds of different nationalities meaning the food here is a great blend of traditional English meals and dishes from around the world. Come with us as we sample bread and butter pudding, fine cheese, and taste bud tingling curry at some of the coolest East London spots including Spitalfields Marketing and Brick Lane all while learning about the history of the area.
Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in London.
Friday 21st February
Our last full day in London is a special one. Our first stop is St Paul’s Cathedral, one of the most iconic buildings on London’s skyline. We’ll enjoy a touch tour of St Paul’s Cathedral before having a few hours of free time. This might be a good time to visit The Tate Modern, which is just across the River Thames, or alternatively you can stroll down South Bank, a lively section of London with restaurants, street entertainers, and shops.
Later in the day, we’ll enjoy an exclusive tactile tour of Parliament. At 4pm we’ll enjoy a welcome drink and orientation before embarking on a tour that covers Westminster Hall, Central Lobby, the Lords Chamber in the House of Lords and the Commons Chamber in the House of Commons. You’ll get to touch and handle several objects and items of furniture along the way – something not many people get to do! There will also be a doorkeeper in traditional dress and the opportunity to play the part of Mr Speaker too!
Breakfast included. Overnight in London.
Saturday 22nd February
Sadly, we check out of our hotel this morning but we hope you’ve had a great time in London. If you’re joining our United Arab Emirates trip tomorrow, enjoy another day in the capital before your next adventure!
