Wednesday 1st May

Today we shall depart for our flight to Oslo. Upon arrival we shall catch the train to our centrally located hotel and settle in for the coming days.

Overnight in Oslo.

Thursday 2nd May

Our first full day in Oslo begins with a walking tour of this fascinating and varied city, giving us an insight into its past and all that it offers on our short stay here. During this tour we shall amble beside the postcard perfect waterfront, taking in the unique beauty of Norway’s capital city. We shall take in sights such as the Akershus Fortress, a nod to the days gone by, before venturing to the Town Hall. We’ll also take in the famous Karl Johan gate, the Parliament building and several other buildings around the centre that are of both historical importance and architectural significance. After our tour we shall stop to have some lunch before continuing our day of cultural exploration, as we make our way to the National Opera House for a private guided tour of the building. After the tour, you may wish to continue meandering the streets of this diverse city, or choose to return to the hotel for some R&R.

Breakfast included. Overnight in Oslo.

Friday 3rd May

Wrap up warm today as we head offshore to discover the unparalleled beauty of the Norwegian Fjords. As we set sail from the dock, take a moment to look back at the shoreline and take in the panoramic views of Oslo from the water. We’ll sail past some of the many islands that surround Oslo such as the beautiful isle of Hovedoya. Be sure to take in the outstanding natural beauty to be found in the fjords, with the dazzling green hues of the islands clashing against the rich blue of the ocean. During this tour, we’ll sail past lighthouses, hidden bays and coves and some unforgettable scenery.  Feel the sensation of the ocean and the cool breeze of the winds as we cruise through the fjords. Upon returning to the dock, the afternoon is then free for you to continue your exploration of Oslo.

Breakfast included. Overnight in Oslo.

Saturday 4th May

Today, we venture to a staple of any trip to Oslo, the Norsk Folk Museum, one of the world’s largest open-air museums. We shall begin our exploration with a special tactile tour, just for our group. The museum itself is divided into several different exhibitions and areas, each brimming with history, art and culture. From the ancient Sami Culture to traditional folk dress to archaic buildings, the Norsk Folk Museum offers an unbeatable insight into Norway’s history and paints a vivid picture of how its culture has evolved to what you see today. This afternoon, what you do is up to you. For your last afternoon you may wish to revisit a sight we have already touched upon to gain a more in-depth experience of it, or choose to set out to new grounds, such as the Vigeland Sculpture park.

Breakfast included. Overnight in Oslo.

Sunday 5th May
