Sunday 30th June

Today we board Balmoral for the start of our journey to Iceland. We’ll depart at 6pm and after we’re settled in our cabins, our group will meet to get to know each other over dinner.

Dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Monday 1st July

Our first day of the trip is on board Balmoral so take it easy and relax! You can enjoy a spa treatment, take a dip in the swimming pool, or simply enjoy the entertainment on board as the world sails by. You won’t be short of things to do on this ship and breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included too so you can have a truly indulgent day!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Tuesday 2nd July

Today we’re still at sea but this is when we’ll get our first glimpse of Iceland. Can you remember that volcano, Eyjafjallajokul, that erupted in 2010 and disrupted a travel plan or two? Well that’s where we’re sailing past today. Don’t worry, it’s not an active volcano at the moment so we’re more than safe to sail past! We’ll also cruise by Ellidaey Island later in the evening too. These picturesque islands are famous for their singular white cottage which is rumoured to be the home of Icelandic singer Bjork. So get your cameras ready, for this is something you don’t want to miss. Our last sight of the day is Elephant Rock and the best vantage point for this is on the sea – perfect as you’re on a Fred Olsen Cruise! Grab a drink and enjoy this natural wonder from the deck!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Wednesday 3rd July

Not only do we dock today in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavik, but we’ll also be venturing inland on a Golden Circle Tour. One of the most popular routes in Iceland takes us past Geysir, where we’ll find lots of geysers and hot springs bubbling away! The biggest attraction here is Stokkur – this active geyser shoots water up 30 meters into the air every few minutes so we’re guaranteed a show here! On this tour we’ll also experience the power of Gullfoss Waterfall – one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls – and Pingvellir National Park which is home to the oldest parliament in the world – Alpingi.

After our tour, you’ll have time to delve into Reykjavik and discover the magic of this city for yourself. Climb to the top of Hallgrimskirkja for bird’s eye views of Reykjavik, visit the impressive glass building of the Harpa Concert and Conference Hall, or grab an Icelandic hot dog by the harbour – which many foreign visitors claim to be one of the best in the world!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Thursday 4th July

Take advantage of a second day in Reykjavik to do all the things you didn’t get chance to do yesterday. Take several stops around the city’s street art, visit Perlan where you can wear cold weather gear and walk through a 100-metre ice cave, or just simply walk the quaint streets of the city.

As well as taking more time to wander around Reykjavik, it’s time for a visit to Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon today. This is an optional excursions and if you wish to experience this must-visit attraction, let us know and we will take you out to these thermal pools where you’ll be able to sink into the warm and rejuvenating geothermal sea water. Enjoy your very own pamper treatment by creating a facemask with the silica and algae or just take your time enjoying the powers of the water with a complimentary drink. You’ll then head back to Reykjavik and board the Balmoral to sail on to our next destination.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Friday 5th July

This morning, we dock in Isafjordur, a pretty ancient church site that is one of Iceland’s busiest fishing ports. We’ll discover Isafjordur by taking a tour which will tell us all about the Icelandic people’s connection to elves and trolls. A guide dressed as a woman from the 19th century will tell us all about the tales and stories of ghosts, elves, trolls, and other mystical creatures that just add to the intrigue of Iceland. Arriving back in Isafjordur, there will be time to explore under your own steam before boarding back on to the ship.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Saturday 6th July

Today we dock in Iceland’s second largest city, Akureyri. Often branded the capital of Northern Iceland, there’s a lot to do here for such a relatively small place. Visit the botanical gardens, go horseback riding through the Icelandic country side, or take a step back in time at the Laufas Turf Homes. This place is so beautiful, you’ll almost not want to tell friends about it back home so it stays exactly how it is.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Sunday 7th July

If you missed anything in Akureyri yesterday, then explore some different places today before we set sail just after lunch. Our next destination is Seydisfjordur and on our way there we’ll sail through Eyjafjordur – Iceland’s longest fjord – Hrisey, a small island 35km from Akureyri. Early evening, we’ll cross the Arctic Circle and cruise along to Grimsey Island – Iceland’s northernmost inhabited territory – and then we’ll reach Skjalfandi Bay where you may even spot a puffin colony, dolphin or whale pod, before enjoying our evening on board.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Monday 8th July

Our last port of call is Seydisfjordur and we’ll dock here in the afternoon after navigating the twists and turns of the fjord – all 17km of it. This place is regarded as one of Iceland’s most picturesque towns so make the most of your time here. You’ll be able to hear the thundering sounds of 25 waterfalls that are formed by the river Fjaroara – if you want to visit one of these, Gufufoss is one of the best. Seydisfjordur is a slow-paced place so enjoy the Icelandic way of life in slow motion by going fishing, enjoying a drink in the bistro, or take a leisurely walk around the town.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Tuesday 9th July

Our last two days are spent at sea so kick back, relax, and revel in some indulgent down time before returning back home. We do have one treat on board for you today and that’s afternoon tea. Enjoy a delectable tray of finger sandwiches and mouth-watering cakes while live classical music is played in the background. The rest of the day is yours to spend how you wish!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Wednesday 10th July

The last day at sea means the chance for a lie in, another leisurely day and more food. Chat with your fellow group mates, share stories from your Iceland adventures and enjoy the last bit of relaxation time on the Balmoral.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight on Balmoral.

Thursday 11th July
