Wednesday 16th September

Arriving in Rome, we’ll check in to our centrally located hotel ready for our Roman adventure. As evening falls, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner that sets the tone for the days ahead – good company, delicious food, and that unmistakable Italian energy and charm.

Dinner included. Overnight in Rome.

Thursday 17th September

We’ll have an early breakfast this morning to make the most of the quieter time at our first stop on our journey of discovery, the iconic Trevi Fountain. A hugely popular site, we arrive before the crowds to make our wish in these magical waters.  From here we’ll wander the bustling streets of Rome on a guided walk, visiting the symbolic Palazzo Montecitorio, the Pantheon, the graceful fountains of Piazza Navona and the famous Spanish Steps. We’ll conclude our walk at the Palazzo Braschi Museum where storytelling and sensory elements enhance the experience for visually impaired guests. Braille captions highlight the most significant pieces in the collection, and selected works can be explored through touch – a perfect introduction to the city.

After some free time for lunch and a relaxed afternoon, we’ll reconvene in the evening for a hands-on cooking class – a fun and flavourful experience rounded off with delicious homemade gelato.

Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight in Rome.

Friday 18th September

This morning, we step back in time to explore the wonders of Ancient Rome. Beginning at the Piazza del Campidoglio, we’ll take in the city’s most iconic archaeological sites, brought to life by expert storytelling and hands on experiences. We’ll visit the Capitoline Museums composed of Palazzo Senatorio, Conservatori and Nuovo and which house tactile models of some of Rome’s most famed sculptures including the  Equestrian Statues of Marcus Aurelius and the Capitoline She-Wolf, amongst others . We’ll then head towards the Roman Forum, and the centrepiece of the city – The Colosseum. We’ll have timed tickets to avoid the crowds, along with an audio guide so you may explore the Colosseum at your own pace.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy as you please, maybe a late lunch, some time to relax with a glass of wine or a coffee in one of the piazzas, browse local boutiques, or discover more of the city at your own pace.

Breakfast included. Overnight in Rome.

Saturday 19th September

Today we cross the Tiber River to discover the Vatican’s treasures, from the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica to the exquisite collections within the world-famous Vatican Museums. Here we will have an exclusive tour which offers a deeper experience – a rare opportunity that allows tactile engagement with selected works. Afterwards, enjoy time for coffee and lunch in the charming neighbourhood of Trastevere, during which time you might stroll past Castel Sant’Angelo, or simply enjoy the area’s lively buzz. In the  afternoon, we take to the water for a gentle boat ride along the Tiber, soaking up the city’s atmosphere from a new perspective. We’ll close the day with a memorable farewell dinner, celebrating the flavours and friendships made on this fabulous city escape.
