Thursday 2nd July
Today we set off to explore one of the most famous “mountain eyes” glacial lakes of Durmitor; the Black Lake. This is a very popular destination as it is known as one of the most beautiful lakes in Montenegro. The Black Lake is located at an altitude of 1416 meters and is surrounded by a dense forest of black Durmitor pine trees. The lake itself is about 3.5km and takes around an hour to walk around. A must-see in Montenegro, the Black Lake is truly mesmerising.
We will then return to our hotel for some free time in the afternoon. Feel free to relax in the hotel after an invigorating morning or set off exploring even more of what this delightful town has to offer.
Breakfast included and lunch included. Overnight in Zabljak.
Friday 3rd July
Today we will check-out of our first hotel and head to the coastal part of Montenegro to the inviting town of Tivat. On the way to our journey to the coast we will stop off at Tara Canyon, where we’ll enjoy an adventurous and scenic river rafting experience in the Tara River. This magnificent river is located in Europe’s longest canyon, which is the second-longest in the world after Grand Canyon in the USA.
During our rafting from Sljivansko to Zugica Luka you will be able to experience fantastic parts of the Tara River, well-known for its outstanding beauty, as well as the remarkable Dudevica Tara Bridge. We will have lunch after our rafting tour, before heading back onto the road to continue our journey to Tivat.
If you are feeling adventurous, why not try your hand at an exhilarating experience – Extreme Ziplining. Feel the rush of air as you fly over the canyon, taking in the rushing river and lush green forests. The Extreme Zipline is the longest and fastest zip line across the Tara River canyon, so this optional excursion is not one to be missed if you want to experience Montenegro from a height, to take in the fresh air as you glide through the sky and gain a completely unique perspective of the canyon.
Breakfast included and lunch Included. Overnight in Tivat.

Tuesday 7th July
Today we will travel to the historic old town of Budva and enjoy a walking tour through the ancient streets. This unique town is one of the oldest urban settlements on the Adriatic, at 2500 years old, and is one of the most popular places to visit when in Montenegro. Enjoy the intricate ancient Mediterranean architecture whilst you wander down the small narrow alleys, lined with cosy cafes, delightful restaurants and welcoming people who create an authentic atmosphere. This really is the best way to get a real sense of the history Montenegro has to offer!
After leaving the town centre we will visit the extraordinary St. Stephen Island. This picturesque island is a unique creation of nature and human hands, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. It’s captivating jumble of 15th-century stone villas overlooks an impeccable pink-sand beach with tempting turquoise waters. The island was nationalised in the 1950s and is now part of the luxurious ‘Aman resort’; a visiting card of Montenegro.
